    On Monday 23rd September a small group of members and guests made the trip to Staffordshire to have a tour of the world headquarters of JCB, undoubtedly one of the greatest manufacturing success stories of post war Britain.

    On another beautiful summer's day 27 Fellows and their guests gathered at the Walnut Tree Hotel in North Petherton near Taunton for another excellent lunch organised superbly by Regional Chairman Tony Ham and his wife Sally. Chairman Michael Garton welcomed everyone and especially the Welsh contingent who were in excellent form. The usual banter and stories from Welsh Giros to Fifty Shades of Grey were enjoyed by everyone during lunch.  Sally Ham circulated throughout the event and painlessly raised £300 for BEN from the assembled gathering.

      ‘On a beautiful warm June day 52 fellows and their guests were welcomed to the Thames valley luncheon at the Oxford Spires Four Pillars hotel by our Chairman Mike Garton. Everyone then enjoyed an excellent luncheon followed by our President Tony Ball MBE welcoming our guest speaker, Colin Dexter, who gave an extremely entertaining talk about his Inspector Morse books and John Thaw who played the lead role in the television series.

    Kwasi Kwarteng MP for Spelthorne hosted a reception in the Terrace Marquee at the House of Commons for Fellows and their guests on the 14th May.  In spite of the weather the event was very enjoyable.  The newly developed Fellowship website was launched and the news was greeted with great enthusiasm from those attending, all were urged to visit it as soon as possible to keep up to date with the FMI activities.   As Fellow Sandy Mathieson said 'Thanks for organising a super and memorable event.   We enjoyed our discussion with the MP particularly on HS2!'  Eileen was wheelchair bound and foun

    The 28th Annual Midlands Luncheon was again held on Wednesday 24th April 2013 in the Roof-Top Restaurant at The Heritage Motor Centre, Gaydon and this year was being held as a tribute to our late Chairman, Tony Jennings, who for many years was the luncheon organiser, who sadly passed away in January 2013. Clive Timms opened the luncheon by asking everyone to observe a few moments silence to remember Tony and, also, our late Vice Chairman, John Anderson, who passed away in November 2012 and to the many other Fellows who we had lost during the past 12 months.
